The Amber Racine Annual Turkey Drive

The Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, Inc. has hosted its Annual Turkey Drive for approximately four decades. Philadelphia has the largest poverty rate of any big city within the United States and each year, we personally identify local families in need of our support. We also contact area churches for the names of families that need our support during Thanksgiving. For almost 10 years, the Turkey Drive was organized and led by past presidents Amber Racine and Scott Reid. Volunteers and members recall Amber and her various turkey headbands securing donations and championing this effort for many years with grace and tenacity

In 2021, we officially renamed the event The Amber Racine Turkey Drive after her untimely death. In her honor we continue to feed hundreds of families. Last year we provided Thanksgiving turkeys to 800 families in the Philadelphia area. To meet this year’s increased needs, we are hoping to surpass that number and are in need of your assistance. Your contribution will help to reach our goal of feeding more than 800 families!
